A Message from Dr. Love
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I’ve found myself thinking about all the people in my life who have helped me and the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation build the incredible organization that we have today.
So, in honor of Valentine’s Day, I’d like to take a moment to tell you about some of the people who are in my heart:
- All of the amazing women and men who have joined the Love/Avon Army of Women. Each one of them deserves a candy heart that says, “You are the best!”
- All of the incredible women who volunteer for the studies we are conducting at the Foundation. If I could make a candy heart for them it would say, “We couldn’t do it without you!”
- All of the scientists who have been the recipients of our Foundation grants. For you, I’d like to make candy hearts that say, “Intraductally yours!”
- All of the women I have met who have had breast cancer. You are the reason I do this work. You are the reason I want to go Beyond a Cure. Your candy hearts should read, “You’re my inspiration.”
- The Foundation’s staff and board members. There’s only one word that could go on your candy hearts: “Awesome!”
I hope that you’ll help me honor these incredible women and men by making a gift to the Foundation this Valentine’s Day. Your gift could be in honor of someone you know who volunteers or works for the Foundation. It could be honor of someone you know who has joined our Army of Women. Or it could be in honor or in memory of someone you know who has been touched by breast cancer.

Research Update
The Foundation is looking for 30 Los Angeles-area women who are between 35 and 55 years of age and who are at high risk for getting breast cancer to take part in a study of a new nipple fluid dipstick test. The dipstick reacts to biomarkers that may be present in breast fluid. It might one day be used to identify which women are at increased risk of getting breast cancer.
To take part in this study, you need to be able to express fluid from your nipple. The dipstick test doesn't hurt and takes only a few minutes. Volunteers will be compensated $50 for their time. If you think you qualify please call (310) 828-0060 or send us an email.
